273 - Monitor processes in Linux Server

1. Monitor CPU, Memory per a specific process

# watch -n 3 "ps auxw | grep -v root | grep ora_p0"

* watch - Run the script comnand repeatedly (by default, every two seconds) and display the output so you can watch it change over time.
The command and any options are passed to sh -c, so you may need to use quotes to get correct results.

2. Monitor I/O per process

272 - Oracle APPS Temporary File

$APPLTMP is a directory configured in Oracle APPS for a temporary file.

This URL looks like :

URL   http://loadbalancer.company.com:80/OA_CGI/FNDWRR.exe?temp_id=nnnnnnnnnn

Piecewise the URL is like this :

1. http://loadbalancer.us.oracle.com:80

271 - Status Check for network NIC bonding

Bonding is nothing but Linux kernel feature that allows to aggregate multiple like interfaces (such as eth0, eth1) into a single virtual link such as bond0.
The idea is pretty simple get higher data rates and as well as link failover. Sometimes you need to monitor the status on its health.

1. Check MAC Address & General information

270 - VMWare Network management

The command of network management is different from Linux.

esxcli [dispatcher options] <namespace> [<namespace> ...] <cmd> [cmd options]

Namespaces is mentioned twice as namespaces can actually be nested and use a drill down approach.
Cmd options refers to the command that needs to be executed to this namespace, this could be like'get', 'list' or 'set'.

269 - Setup default gateway

To setup default gateway :

1. Modifying the /etc/sysconfig/network.

# vi /etc/sysconfig/network

* Setup GATEWAY={Router-IP}

2. Save and close the file.

268 - Configuring TCP KeepAlive Parameters

Linux server uses the settings for the TCP KeepAlive parameter to clean up connections from clients that have disconnected
without releasing a license that has been checked out.

You can change the TCP KeepAlive parameter if you need the abandoned license checkouts to be cleaned up more frequently.

The KeepAlive parameter names vary by operating system but generally specify :

267 - Show running SQLs

If you want to know the running SQLs at that moment, the commands are useful.

SQL> col USERNAME format a15
SQL> col MACHINE  format a10
SQL> set lin 500
SQL> set pagesize 20000

SQL> select a.username, a.sid, a.serial#, a.machine, b.sql_text from v$session a, v$sqltext b where a.sql_address = b.address and a.sql_hash_value = b.hash_value and b.piece = 0 and a.username is not null and a.status = 'ACTIVE' order by a.username, a.sid, b.piece;

266 - Oracle Parallel Server

Oracle Parallel Server is a robust computing environment that harnesses the processing power of multiple, interconnected computers.
Oracle Parallel Server software and a collection of hardware known as a "cluster", unites the processing power of each component to become a single,
robust computing environment. A cluster generally comprises two or more computers, or "nodes".

265 - A lot of [ext4-dio-unwrit] threads

If you are using ext4, you see a lot of ext4-dio-unwrit processes. You should not kill them.

# ps -ef | grep ext4-dio-unwrit | wc

If there are 64 CPUs, all processes might be 448( 64 x 7 = 448 ) + 1.
